Get yourself some great games to play this weekend. denofgeek.com

With Sony finally launching the new PlayStation 5 on Nov. 12 (U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Mexico and South Korea), the impending arrival of the next-gen console got us all hyped to play the hottest launch titles.

For those who secured a PS5 preorder (or are still trying to), we've rounded up a list of all of the hottest games you can preorder right now from Sony's first-party developers. From PlayStation exclusives like "Spider-Man: Miles Morales" and "Demon's Souls" to third-party AAA titles such as "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" and "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla," there will be a lot of interesting games to play this holiday on the PS5.

"Demon's Souls"

  • Release date: Nov. 12

Sony showed off impressive gameplay footage of Bluepoint's "Demon's Souls" remake during the recent PS5 showcase event. The graphics got a next-gen makeover, and the lighting takes full advantage of the PS5's upgraded hardware. It's one of the PS5 titles that will cost $70 at launch and will release alongside the console for this year's holiday season.

"Spider-Man: Miles Morales"

  • Release date: Nov. 12
  • Preorder bonuses: Two extra suits, The Gravity Well gadget, and extra skill points in a New Game

"Spider-Man: Miles Morales" is probably our pick for the most sought-after PS5 launch title. It takes place one year after the events of 2018's smash hit: "Marvel's Spider-Man" and sees Miles square off against the Tinkerer and his tech-savvy criminal enterprise. It's available to preorder in two editions. The base game will run you $49.99, while the $69.99 Ultimate Edition comes with a remastered version of "Marvel's Spider-Man" (which is reason enough to get the UE, in our opinion).

"Sackboy: A Big Adventure"

  • Release date: Nov. 12

The latest entry in Sony's "LittleBigPlanet" series will also release alongside the PS5 this Holiday season. "Sackboy: A Big Adventure" is a 3D platformer (as opposed to the last title's 2.5D layout) played from an isometric perspective that features both solo and co-op play. If you're looking for a casual, family-friendly launch game for the PS5, you can't go wrong experiencing Sackboy's next adventures. Oh, one more thing, it's also one of the few launch titles that kept the $60 price, which is pretty neat. Thanks, Sumo Digital!

"Assassin's Creed Valhalla"

  • Release date: Nov. 12
  • Preorder bonus: Bonus mission

"Assassin's Creed Valhalla," the next entry in Ubisoft's long-standing historical action series, takes players back to the Viking Age. For "AC: Valhalla," you get a $10 discount for all the game's editions including the PS5 and PS4 versions, and the PS5's Gold Edition. The PS4 version also has a free upgrade to the PS5 version. Ubisoft is notorious for including a bunch of editions for their releases and, although "AC: Valhalla" has toned them down a bit, we still recommend that you check out the preorder guide so you know what exactly you're getting in your preorder.

"Watch Dogs Legion"

  • Release date: Nov. 12 (Oct. 29 for current-gen consoles)

"Watch Dogs Legion's" PS4 version will feature a free next-gen upgrade to the PS5 edition, a feature that Ubisoft seems to be doing with all their new releases. Like "Assassin's Creed Valhalla," this means you can purchase the PS4 version instead of the PS5 one if you don't plan on buying a PS5 but still want to play this game. Being a Ubisoft game, you can expect the game to have multiple editions. Check out Ubisoft's content guide for more information.
