The personalities that basketball fans would see for "Space Jam 2" are slowly piling up with a lot coming from the NBA world. The latest one who auditioned for a role is controversial stage father LaVar Ball, someone most perceive to be the ideal villain opposite LeBron James and the lovable Looney Tunes characters.

Filming for "Space Jam 2" is set to start this summer, although James is reportedly having a tough time recruiting other NBA stars to co-star with him. According to ESPN, the top NBA names allegedly do not want to get dunked on by the three-time NBA champion -- even if it is just for a movie. It remains to be seen if this will change, although there is also word that two people have already been enlisted to rewrite the script.

Among the names NBA fans were looking forward to seeing in the sequel include Stephen Curry, James Harden, Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The latest player linked to "Space Jam 2" is Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors, who is reportedly locked in for a role, though this has yet to be confirmed, CBS Sports reported. Lonzo Ball has been rumored to be one of the personalities to watch out for "Space Jam 2," seeing how he and James grew close following the former's season-ending injury.

If that were the case, it hardly comes as a surprise to see Lonzo's dad enter the picture. LaVar Ball auditioned for a part in "Space Jam 2" and critics feel that he could be the perfect villain opposite James and the Looney Tunes squad. The audition tape was released recently by Fox Sports, something that can be viewed below.

And while there are some NBA fans who are likely to throw shade at Ball (and probably James if he ends up taking in Lonzo's dad), he is looming as a perfect and sensible fit. He is cocky and someone who can really get into anyone's skin although pundits feel his acting leaves a lot to be desired. Should he land a role for the film, LaVar will have all the time to work on that and hopefully not cause any headaches or problems for James and the production team.
