  • Zinedine Zidane scoffs rumors that he is set to leave Real Madrid after this season
  • Winning  the trophy is no longer in Real Madrid's hands
  • Zidane could still leave, and a decision may be made after their campaign

Real Madrid may not be stable right now, a reason why reports have come out that Zinedine Zidane may leave Santiago Bernabeu.

Several outlets report that the 48-year-old could leave Los Blancos due to mental and physical fatigue, but it appears none of those are true.

In the latest update on the Zidane exit talk, the coach set the records straight by brushing off claims that he will leave Los Blancos after this season.

He denied telling Real Madrid players that he was moving on and stressed that this is something he would never tell his players.

"How could I tell the players I'm leaving now? We're giving our everything for the title and I just say 'by the way, I'm off,'" Zidane stated to reporters. "People outside the club can say whatever they like, but I would never, ever say that to my players."

The response comes not long after Real Madrid’s win over Athletic Bilbao. But worth noting here is that Los Blancos is in danger of finishing the 2020-21 season without a trophy.

They are two points behind Atletico Madrid in La Liga and have only one match left.

Making matters worse for Zidane and company was that the win of Atletico against Osasuna, something that dealt their aspirations a big blow.

With the development, the fate of Real Madrid will depend on several factors. One is that they need to pray that Atletico will lose to bag the title.

Real Madrid will face Villareal, while Atletico is set to duke it out with a tough Valladolid team that will look to win to avoid relegation.

Although this somehow negates the earlier claim of Zidane leaving Real Madrid at the end of the 2020-21 season, a lot may hinge on how the club ends its current run.
