Stocks Fall, Dollar Strengthens After Fed Minutes

Stock indexes fell on Wednesday and the U.S dollar surged to a nearly two-year peak, after the Federal Reserve released minutes from its last meeting that reinforced views the central bank may tighten aggressively to curb inflation.

S&P 500, Nasdaq Up 1% As Tech, Growth Shares Gain

U.S. stocks were higher in afternoon trading on Tuesday, with the Nasdaq and S&P 500 both up at least 1%, as technology and shares of other big growth names rebounded from recent losses and Nike rose after it reported upbeat results.
