Roger Federer has been making the most out of his time in home quarantine with the threat of the coronavirus lurking. COVID-19 has significantly changed the sporting world with how major tournaments and events have been called off. The global pandemic has also affected Federer’s calendar return to the court as he heals from knee surgery.

Federer was expected to make a comeback to the tour after he has fully recovered from his injuries. The 20-time Grand Slam champion was hopeful in gaining another chance in winning another Major to add to his already historic resume.

His return would have been perfect for another Wimbledon run. But the rapidly evolving case of the virus has persisted to affect everyone – including Wimbledon to cancel the tournament for the first time since the Second World War.

With sports on hiatus, a top athlete like Federer has found ways to keep himself active. Last week he posted in his social media accounts his wall practice session on an icy surface. The Swiss legend posted a video of him practicing the trick shots he’s used to defeating his opponents.

As his previous posts received a lot of engagement, he decided to take it up a notch with a new challenge he just came up with. Federer posted a new video of him practicing his volleys dribbling the ball nonstop towards the wall while wearing a peculiar hat. The hat was part of the outfit that was integral to the challenge he posed.

He then tagged football superstar Christiano Ronaldo, billionaire Bill Gates, and fellow tennis icon Rafael Nadal among many others. He even included action stars like the rock, NBA players such as LeBron James and even world-renowned band Coldplay.

While not everyone has responded to the tennis champion, the rest of the world stepped up with their own version of the challenge. Federer playfully responded to those who gave their own take to the crazy hat and tennis drill.

He also sent constant reminders to always practice social distancing and other precautionary measures in this difficult time.
