The Golden State Warriors refuted reports that Stephen Curry might not return this season after he broke his hand a week ago. Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report shared that a source within the Dubs told him that Curry’s fracture was worse than initially thought. The Dubs immediately denied that claim with some within the team calling it total hogwash.

When asked about reports claiming Curry’s unlikely return, Golden State Warriors Coach Steve Kerr said the initial report was a head-scratcher. The Dubs faced the Minnesota Timberwolves last Friday. The team maintains that Stephen Curry will be subjected to another re-evaluation after three months following his surgery last Friday.

The Golden State Warriors guard suffered a broken left hand last Wednesday when he collided with Aron Baynes of the Phoenix Suns while driving to the basket. Curry landed on his hands and was seen grabbing his wrist after Baynes fell on top of him. The Warriors announced last Friday that Steph Curry will undergo hand surgery and will not be playing for at least three months.

The Golden State Warriors roster was stripped down at the offseason. The team is currently struggling at the start of the season, going 2-6. At the moment, the team has 9 23 years old players or younger and is missing key players like Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, and Kevin Durant.

Shaun Livingston retired from the NBA, Iguodala is now playing with the Memphis Grizzlies, and Kevin Durant signed a deal with the Brooklyn Nets last summer as a free agent. While Klay Thompson is still playing for the Golden State Warriors, he will be missing a lot of games this season since he is still recovering from torn ACL. Steph Curry was supposedly the anchor to keep the team as it transitions this year.

Many fans believe that if the Golden State Warriors continue to struggle, it would not be surprising to Steph Curry sitting out for the remainder of the season. LA Lakers did this last season to LeBron James after he suffered a groin strain.
