A Vlogger who tried the "spicy noodle challenge" ended up bleeding out of her rectum for four days, according to reports Thursday.

Shannen Goulding and her friend Keelan Unsworth, both 20 years old, filmed themselves eating the infamous Samyang Hot Chicken Flavour Cup Ramen, considered to be one of the spiciest ramens in the world. They did this as part of the viral "spicy noodle challenge" or “spicy ramen challenge,” reports said.

“When I was actually eating it, it felt like your throat was swelling up and I couldn’t breathe. I was properly sweating as well,” Goulding said. “We didn’t realize how spicy it was because we always thought [other vloggers] were exaggerating and we thought we’d do a truthful, honest review of it.”

Goulding, from Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, was soon rushed to the hospital a day after filming the incident as she was “pooing blood.”

Doctors put her on an IV drip and performed a colonoscopy which revealed she was in the early stages of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), likely to be Crohn’s disease. It affects the lining of the digestive tract and can sometimes cause life-threatening complications. Though medications are available for the disease, it can not be cured.

The spicy the spicy ramen challenge originated in Korea. It started off with people daring to completely finish Samyang Spicy Instant Noodles/ramen, which is considered to be the spiciest noodles/ramen available. The challenge took the internet by storm. Other parts of the world, including the United States, has their own versions of the challenge dubbed as "spicy food challenge." The challenge has sometimes left several people with bad stomachs and permanent internal damages.

But despite the doctor’s warning and her own experience, Goulding said she would do the challenge again with hotter noodles.

“I would say this challenge was ‘deadly’, but it was definitely a successful challenge,” Goulding said. “I thought I would be able to complete it all but I didn’t ever think I’d end up in hospital. After we ate it, I started getting really bad pains. So did Keelan, but his weren’t as bad as mine.”

“Later on the next day, when I went to the toilet, it was just pure blood. So I had to go to A&E and they were asking me if I had any hemorrhoids or things like that. I didn’t, but I have IBS and I ate spicy noodles,” Goulding said. “I was telling the doctors and nurses about it and they just started laughing at me. I found out that the spicy noodles had triggered me to start bleeding."

Goulding said the incident was in a way lucky because the doctors found microscopic traces of IBD in the colonoscopy.

“They were all panicking and I just found it really funny,” Goulding said. “All my friends were like ‘it’s typical Shannen’. I have a reputation for doing stuff like this. Once I was doing a video which was a drunk challenge, and I took a shot and ended up chipping my tooth. I’ve just got a reputation for being the dopiest friend.”

“I’d definitely do it again. I left a bit of the noodles at the end so I want to do it again to complete it all,” she added.
