“Fifty Shades of Grey” author and sudden best-seller E.L. James (real name Erika Leonard) sexed up Katie Couric’s new ABC show “Katie” but didn't tip her hand when she appeared as a guest this week.

“I have, I think, three people who could play Christian and about four who could play Ana. And I'm not going to tell you any of them,” teased James.

Even though James would not reveal much about the film of her erotic thriller, she brushed off critics.

The British author nonchalantly explained to Couric: “Somebody likes it,” she said while shrugging. As for those who are not fans of her writing she said, “It’s just noise.”

Then James gave aspiring writers a hint about those who might critique their writing, “Write for yourself,” she said. "That’s it. And write every day.”

Fans of the series have been speculating about who will play their favorite characters in the film adaptation. Ryan Gosling has been one of the most popular fan choices to play Christian Grey and Alexis Bledel has been a favorite for the role of alluring Anastasia Steele.

Most recently is was stated that porn star James Dean, whose real name is Brian Sevilla, was definitely in the running to be cast as Christian Grey.

But many fans commenting on Internet forums said that if Deen were cast as Grey it would be a “hard limit” for them. Not many women like the idea of a porn star to play their beloved Grey.

Author Bret Easton Elis, who had been considered as a screenwriter, had tweeted that Deen was being considered for the role and added that the budget was low by Hollywood standards, so a no-name actress was going to play Anastasia.

“Fifty Shades of Grey” the movie still does not have a producer, nor does it have a director.
