The American states might be great places to live, but they've taken some devastating hits over the years. These states have been hit by natural disasters like deadly tornadoes, flood, twisters, hurricanes, wildfires and winter storms.
Dozens of tornadoes have hit the southeastern United States, leaving vast property destruction and killing more than 250 people, the worst series of storms in 40 years. Here's a slideshow:
