However, after a couple of minutes, the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” star took the stage and corrected his mistake announcing Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach as the rightful winner.

Harvey spent a couple of weeks apologizing for his mistake. He returned in Miss Universe 2016 and hosted the pageant with Wurtzbach. They talked about the mistake in the last pageant. Harvey promised to announce the correct name this time and the pair even joked about the incident.

“Steve thank you for making me the most popular Miss Universe,” Wurtzbach told Harvey per News18.com. “Thank you for making me the most popular host,” he replied.

Harvey joined Tyra Banks on her talk show a few years back where he made a bold statement that no woman should date an atheist. “A woman should not go out with a man who doesn't believe in God,” Harvey said. “If you’re an atheist, you’re basing your goodness and morality on what? If you don’t believe in God, well then, to me you’re an idiot...If you don’t believe in God, I don’t like talking to you.”

Infidelity Issues With Ex

Harvey did not have an amicable split with ex-wife Mary Harvey. In fact, Mary released a 25-minute YouTube video where she threw shade on the “You Got Served” star.

“Steve Harvey owes me $50 million, and I want him arrested for violating my civil rights!” Mary said. “I want him charged with a constitutional rights violation, falsifying documents, perjury, contempt of court, embezzlement, extortion and collusion. For what he's done to me, I want to see Steve Harvey behind bars!”

Racist Joke Against Asian Men

In January 2017, Harvey showed the 2002 book cover of “How to Date a White Woman: A Practical Guide for Asian Men.” Then he asked the audience, “Excuse me, do you like Asian men?” and he answered, “No, thank you.” He then asked if there was a book “How to Date a Black Woman: A Practical Guide [for] Asian Men.”

“You like Asian men? I don’t even like Chinese food. It don’t stay with you no time. I don’t eat what I can’t pronounce,” Harvey added. The host later issued a public apology for his remarks.
