A 7-year-old girl from North Florida went missing Monday on her way home from school, triggering a massive ground and air search.

The girl, Somer Thompson, was being sought by more than 100 Clay County deputies, law enforcement officers from neighboring counties, the FBI and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in an Orange Park neighborhood, the Associated Press reported.

Officials have no idea what happened to her, the Associated Press reports.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the girl was reported missing. She was described as white, 3-foot-5 and 65 pounds, with brown hair tied in a pony tail with a red bow. She was carrying a purple Hannah Montana backpack and lunch box.
