‘9-1-1’ Spoilers: Buck, Athena’s Valentine’s Date Goes Awry In Episode 6

Love is in the air when Fox’s “9-1-1” returns next week. Unfortunately for Buck (Oliver Stark), he’ll find himself in a life-or-death situation when he takes Abby (Connie Britton) to their first official date.

The synopsis for “9-1-1” episode 6, titled “Heartbreaker,” mentions Abby and Buck going out on their first official date. This is reiterated in the promo clip for the upcoming installment that shows the pair arriving at a fine-dining restaurant for their Valentine’s date. As Abby’s voiceover says, “I love Valentine’s Day,” the teaser flashes scenes of the two exchanging glances.

However, things take a different turn when Buck takes his first bite of the food that was served to them. The sneak peek shows Buck vomiting and chocking, prompting Abby to rush to Buck to help him. A moment later, the clip shows Buck unconsciously lying on the floor while Abby is giving him a CPR.

The promo clip definitely doesn’t bring good news to fans who were delighted to see Abby and Buck’s budding romance this week. In episode 5, Abby formally introduced Buck to her mother, who doesn’t really have a clue as to what is going on since she’s suffering with Alzheimer’s. Nevertheless, the move was something special.

When it was time for Buck to go, Abby told him that they should just stick to being phone buddies for the time being so they don’t ruin their relationship. This is in spite of Buck’s advances and confession that he wants to sleep with Abby. The episode also featured a frisky phone call that Buck initiated to tease Abby. Hopefully, their romance could blossom even more and not end on a sour note like what the new sneak peek is hinting.

Meanwhile, the preview from episode 6 also reveals that Athena (Angela Bassett) will get into trouble when she responds to an emergency situation involving a couple who may be fighting over their engagement. From the looks of things, the woman is already desperate to receive a sparkler from her beau, and she’s appalled that she’s not getting what she’s asking for on Valentine’s Day. The woman then goes berserk and things turn bloody.

“9-1-1” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
