Only a few months after announcing her pregnancy online, British pop singer Adele has reportedly given birth to her first baby, a boy.

Adele, 24, and her partner Simon Konecki, 38, had their child on Friday night at a hospital in the U.K., according to the Daily Mail,

An unnamed source reportedly close to the couple confirmed the birth to the Daily Mail, adding that Adele and Konecki are extremely excited about the birth of their first child together.

“Adele and Simon are ecstatic at their new arrival,” the source is quoted as saying. “She was over the moon that they were expecting their first child together.”

While the unnamed source was quick to report on Adele’s delivery, the singer’s publicist has refused to comment on the matter.

“We are not releasing a statement at this time. No comment,” the publicist told the Daily Mail.

Adele announced the pregnancy on her website in late June.

“Im delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together,” Adele wrote in a blog post. “I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx”

Adele and Konecki began dating in the summer of last year and moved in together early this year. Konecki also has a child, a 5-year-old daughter, from a previous marriage.

Soon after Adele announced that she was pregnant, the rumor mill began speculating that she would give birth as early as September. However, it has obviously taken a bit longer. The confusion arose because Adele did not initially report how far along her pregnancy was.
