Whitney Solloway will be getting a new love interest on Showtime’s “The Affair.” On Season 2, the troubled teen had fallen for Scotty Lockhart, but on the upcoming Season 3 she will have her heart set on another man.

According to TV Line, “Desperate Housewives” alum Jonathan Cake has been tapped to play Whitney’s (Julia Goldani Telles) boss and new love interest. Not much has been revealed about the character, but we have a feeling Whitney and her new beau’s romance won’t go over well with her parents Noah Solloway (Dominic West) and Helen Solloway (Maura Tierney). In Season 2, Noah got into a fight with Scotty Lockhart (Colin Donnell) when he found out he had impregnated Whitney. Fans will also remember that Scotty was killed, and Season 2 ended with Noah admitting during his trial that he murdered Scotty, although that wasn’t entirely true.

Cake won’t be the only newcomer on Season 3 of “The Affair.” Last month it was reported that Guy Burnett landed a recurring role as a graduate student and campus Lothario. According to Deadline, the character crosses paths with Noah. French actress Irene Jacob also landed a role on the show, playing a new love interest for Noah. Variety reported that her character is named Juliette Le Gall and she has a few dark secrets of her own. Juliette will help Noah understand himself a little better and process everything he’s been going through.

During an interview last month with Entertainment Weekly, Tierney revealed that Season 3 will pick up three years after Noah admitted to killing Scotty. Tierney said that her character, as well as several others, will still be dealing with the consequences of their involvement in Scotty’s death. “Psychology, certainly Helen is kind of stuck in the same spot. So the season will sort of be about her — all of them — kind of dealing with the consequences once again of their actions in the previous season,” she said. “Everybody did it, not just Helen. Because Alison pushed him and Cole wouldn’t let them be apart. Everybody played a role. Noah wouldn’t drive, so we all did it. It’s not just Helen’s fault.”

“The Affair” Season 3 premieres Sunday, Nov. 20 on Showtime.
