RadioShack is offering the Evo Design 4G and Motorola Photon 4G from Sprint at big discounts for their after Christmas sale this year. If you are signing a new two year contract with Sprint, RadioShack will give you an Evo Design 4G for free or a Motorola Photon 4G for $50. These are Web only prices, and it changes if you are renewing your contract or adding a line to your existing one.

If you're leaning toward the Design 4G, the price goes to $30 if you're renewing your contract, but it's free if you're adding a line. For the Photon 4G, the price goes to $70 if you're renewing or adding a line, and that is a $120 savings from the normal Sprint price. In case you are trying to figure out which is the better deal, consider this. Evo Design 4G has a four inch screen, battery life up to six hours of talk time, microSD card (8 gigabyte card included) and will get the Android 4.0 update in the next few months.

Photon 4G has a 4.3-inch screen, up to 10 hours of talk time, eight megapixel camera and more memory than the Design 4G, but there is no word yet on if it will get the Android 4.0 update. Motorola has announced they will update devices like the Droid Razr and Droid Bionic (both on Verizon), but have not indicated whether or not it will come to the Photon 4G. They may still be working on whether or not the new system update will work with their own software. A similar situation came up with Samsung and their Galaxy S smartphone. Android 4.0 won't work with Samsung's software, so the device won't get the update. The same thing could be playing out here with the Photon 4G.

It that is the case and Photon 4G won't be getting the update, then the Design 4G is the winner. Being this is an after Christmas sale, Motorola probably won't make up their mind before it's over. Tell us in the comments if you're still after Christmas sale shopping.
