“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” is going to have a smaller cast after the Season 3 finale Tuesday. In the midseason premiere, a flash-forward showed an unidentified SHIELD agent in a quinjet, apparently dead and in space. Fans have been guessing the identity of the agent since then, but the truth won’t be revealed until the season finale. That won’t stop us from theorizing about the ABC drama, though. Here are the agents who seem to be the most likely candidates for death this week.

Fitz or Simmons: These two are listed together because the reasoning behind both theories is the same. Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) just got together after almost three years of flirting and will-they-or-won’t-they tension. Aside from all the Inhuman drama, they generally appear happy together. That’s the problem. “Agents of SHIELD” doesn’t have many happy romances. May (Ming-Na Wen) and Coulson (Clark Gregg) both lost lovers this season. Bobbi (Adrianne Palicki) and Hunter (Nick Blood) didn’t lose each other, but they lost the team instead. Could the honeymoon be over for Fitz and Simmons?

Mack: He was given Elena’s (Natalia Cordova-Buckley) necklace in the previous episode, which is the biggest hint that it could be Mack (Henry Simmons). He is also a character who a lot of people love. He has close relationships with Elena, Fitz and Daisy (Chloe Bennet), so his death would have a major effect on the team.

Elena: It is her necklace in the vision, and a sneak peek shows Elena, also known as Yo-Yo, getting it back. In the same clip, she also says that she’d rather die than have Hive (Brett Dalton) take over her mind. Maybe she is willing to give her life for the cause? Watch the sneak-peek video of the “Agents of SHIELD” Season 3 finale below:

Daisy: The agent was just rescued from Hive’s mind control, but she’ll be very upset as she recovers. “I was surprised with how angry and distant they wrote her, which I liked, because I was expecting an immediate, softened apology,” Bennet told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s so deeply broken up about it that she can’t even expose how she actually feels to her team. She’s so upset that she feels like she can’t even look at the team, let alone be upset about it in front of them.” Will risking her life seem like the only way to repay her friends for the damage she caused?

Lincoln: Again, he’s in a couple, and this show doesn’t really love the whole happily-ever-after thing. Also, Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) has also been committing himself to SHIELD more and more this year. He has proven he isn’t on the team just to be with Daisy. He might be willing to take a deadly risk in the event it means saving the world.
