Amanda Seyfried is making headlines not for her performance in "Les Miserables," but for the gorgeous gown she wore to the premiere in London on Tuesday.

Captured in red carpet photos, 27-year-old Seyfried donned an elegant gown by Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, the designer who left his post from the Paris fashion house after 15 years. The red carpet was held Tuesday at London's Leicester Square before the UK premiere of "Les Miserables."

Seyfried stole the attention away from Hathaway who wore a white beaded dress from the Givenchy Spring 2012 Couture collection, which The Huffington Post called "befuddling." The pearl beaded gown had cut out shoulder sleeves with drapy dolman sleeves and a mermaid cut.

Seyfried's dress, on the other hand, was a stunning black Valencia style gown with white trimming from Balenciaga's Spring 2013 collection. The peplum waist highlighted the svelte blonde's curves and a deep scoop neck accentuated her décolletage.

The Balenciaga dress from the designer's final collection with the brand not only fit the starlet perfectly, but was a great choice for Seyfriend after the fashion house saw changes earlier this week. Designer Ghesquière first announced he would depart Balenciaga Nov. 5. The designer reportedly left the house, which is owned by parent company PPR, on Nov. 30 due to creative differences, The New York Times reported. His long-rumored replacement turned out to be New York designer Alexander Wang, who will begin immediately and show his first collection for the Fall 2013 season.
