Whoa, what is this we hear about Lily Rabe not returning to the fourth season of “American Horror Story”? Well, the tear-jerking rumors are derived from an announcement made recently about the actress’ confirmed appearance in a new ABC pilot, “The Visitors.”
Produced by Steven Spielberg’s Ambline TV, “The Visitors” is a sci-fi drama that follows the story of Earth’s race against the clock to defeat an unseen alien enemy out to destroy the world, according to TV Live. In the series, the enemy will use the world’s most precious resource against us. And while that aspect still remains a mystery, there is one thing TV fans know for sure: Rabe’s role in the pilot is pretty cool.
Rabe will be portraying the character of Claire Bennigan, a dogged Child Specialist who has the FBI breathing down her neck as she dives deeper into the strange cases involving children and imaginary friend “Drill” -- could that be “The Visitor”?
The synopsis hints that Bennigan will use her intuition and compassion of the child’s mind as a way to solve the case. But the mother will be tested when she makes the devastating discovery that her own son has been captured by the enemy. Can the protagonist use her “superpowers” and confidence as a mom and Agent to bring her son back home?
If anyone has the courage to do so, it’s Rabe. She’s played some fierce roles in the past from a possessed nun to a hippie witch with the power of resurgence. With that said, it would really break our hearts if the 31-year-old actress decided not to return to “American Horror Story.”
Very little is known about the upcoming season of “AHS” besides what co-creator Ryan Murphy has teased. He revealed that season 4 will take place in the 1950s and that Jessica Lange will be sporting a German accent in the thrilling series. Sarah Paulson will also be joining her former TV-mother, but is working on her own “special skill” for season 4 of “AHS.”
So, when will fans find out if Rabe is returning to “American Horror Story”? Well, it looks like she’ll have to be just as patient as us. Several cast members are itching to be recast in the FX series like Evan Peters, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett but Murphy has not confirmed any names besides Lange and Paulson.
Would you watch “American Horror Story” if Rabe wasn’t cast in season 4? Since “The Visitors” is just a pilot, we have a feeling Rabe will more than likely return to “AHS.” Let us know your thoughts about Rabe’s appearance in “The Visitors” in the comments section below.
