Think you’re ready to check in at Hotel Cortez? “American Horror Story” fans are about to find out! Season 5, “Hotel,” premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 7. But before viewers unpack their bags and settle in, take a few moments to meet the new cast of characters.

As previously reported, episode 1 of “Hotel” will introduce viewers to the mysterious Hotel Cortez. It is believed that the Los Angeles building is linked to a “chain of gruesome murders” in town. While the hotel is undoubtedly full of dark secrets … the residents are just as suspicious.

Angela Bassett as Ramona Royale

Hello, Ramona! Played by returning cast member Angela Bassett, Ramona Royale is a film star who has a romantic history with Lady Gaga’s character Elizabeth. However, Entertainment Weekly reports that the women are now at odds. In fact, Ramona wants revenge on Elizabeth.

In Season 5 Kathy Bates is tackling Iris, the manager of Hotel Cortez. Iris lives at the hotel with her son, Donovan (Matt Bomer). She continuously butts heads with tenant Hypodermic Sally (Sarah Paulson) and works on crossword puzzles.

Wes Bentley as John Lowe

Viewers should be worried about John Lowe. Wes Bentley’s character is a detective with the Los Angeles police department investigating a string of murders committed by the “10 Commandments Killer.” TV Guide reveals that Detective Lowe is “lured” to Hotel Cortez by a call from the killer. And unfortunately for Lowe, the killer is interested in his personal life.

Matt Bomer as Donovan

Beware the wrath of Donovan. Matt Bomer’s character is the son of Iris and a lover to Elizabeth (Lady Gaga). Unfortunately for Donovan, his lady love becomes interested in another man … leading him to seek revenge on her alongside Ramona.

Lady Gaga portrays Elizabeth on “American Horror Story: Hotel.” But Elizabeth also goes by “The Countess.” The character is the owner of Hotel Cortez and suffers from an “ancient blood virus.”

Cheyenne Jackson as Will Drake

Will Drake, played by Cheyenne Jackson, is a single father and New York fashion designer. However, lost creativity and passion draws him to California … and Hotel Cortez. Jackson confirmed to MTV that his character will have a “chaotic” relationship with Elizabeh.

Evan Peters’ character, James March, will help tell the story of “Hotel” from a different time period – the 1930s. James March was the original owner and builer of the hotel. Peters revealed to EW that his character “designed a hotel to cater to his specific needs, which tend toward the dark evil.”

Chlöe Sevigny as Alex Lowe

Alex Lowe, played by Chlöe Sevigny, is a pediatrician and the wife of Detective John Lowe. Both Alex and John are suffering from a major loss when the season starts.
