“19 Kids and Counting” star Amy Duggar admitted that she was born before her mother Deanna Duggar got married. The niece to the conservative Christian family’s patriarch Jim Bob Duggar made the revelation in an Instagram post this week.

"The tabloids are telling the truth, my mom and dad did have me out of wedlock," Amy captioned a photo with her mother and father. "Just because we are Christians doesn't make us perfect, it just makes us forgiven. Just because I share the Duggar name doesn't mean my life is perfect!"

The 27-year-old also praised her uncle Jim Bob and also said that the popularity of the family was because of their faith in God.

“I'm sure she was scared, young, ridiculed, and felt ashamed. God's grace covered it though! She's beautiful inside and out. I'm also grateful that I have such an awesome relationship with my dad! Seriously he's the greatest,” Amy added.

On Thursday, Amy also posted a photo of her with her father, writing: "Happy birthday to my Daddio! Who I love very much!"

Deanna and Terry Jordan reportedly got married in 2006, and according to Radar Online, Jordan may not be Amy’s biological father.

In an interview in 2012, Terry had said that he and Deanna had been dating for 20 years -- five years after Amy was born, the Daily Mail reported earlier.

“Terry and I knew each other a long time ago, and I got pregnant with Amy. And so, we dated each other on and off for quite some time,” Deanna said, in a 2009 interview, according to Daily Mail. “Then we finally decided you know what, we need to get married! So we got married, we’ve been together three years.”
