Lenovo had officially revealed the names of five smartphones that would receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on its support page. The listing had revealed that the K3 Note, A7000, A7000 Plus, Vibe S1 and Vibe P1 would be Lenovo’s first smartphones to receive the Android 6.0 upgrade. However, the listing of these five smartphone has been removed from the support page. The other Chinese tech giant, Huawei too has announced its plan for releasing Android 6.0 for its Honor smartphones.

The official Android Upgrade Matrix Support page of Lenovo had stated that A7000, A7000 Plus and K3 Note would receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in September 2016. The Vibe S1 and Vibe P1 smartphones would be updated to Android 6.0 in June 2016.

Most of the leading smartphone brands like Samsung, Sony, Motorola and so on are working on releasing the Android 6.0 upgrade for their smartphones as soon as possible. However, since Chinese smartphone makers customize the Android updates before releasing them, there is a delay before the latest Android build becomes available to the user.

Except for the Vibe P1 that is shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop, all the four smartphones mentioned above are currently running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. NDTV has reported that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow release information of these handsets has been removed from the support page. Lenovo may have removed the Android 6.0 release date listing for the aforementioned devices in order to revise the roll out timeframe.

The news of Android 6.0 release for Lenovo smartphones surfaced soon after Huawei officially declared the list of Honor smartphones that will be upgraded to Android 6.0. According to the official tweet, all the Honor series handsets which include Honor 4C, Honor 4X, Honor 6, Honor 6 Plus, and Honor 7 will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in February 2016.

GSM Arena has reported that the Ascend P8, Ascend P8 Max, Mate S, MediaPad X2, Mate 7, and Ascend G7 will be also upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The publication has not revealed the exact timeframe of the release of Android 6.0 upgrade for these devices.
