A new analysis by ABI Research shows that Android phones are downloading more apps than Apple phones. However, the numbers also indicate that Android cellphones outnumber iPhones by a 2.4 to 1 ratio.

The Android app market has hit 500,000 apps published this September. Another analysis report from German firm research2guidance also reveals that more than 37 percent of Android's apps were removed from its app store. Apple only had 24 percent removed. Their removal appears to be due to various reasons.
