The foul-mouthed Internet personality known as the Angry Video Game Nerd is about to make his Nintendo 3DS debut. The maker of the game console has announced that “Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures” (aka “AVGN Adventures”) is now available on the Nintendo eShop for 3DS. The game was previously available on Steam and Nintendo Wii U, but now fans will be able to play it on a handheld game platform.

“AVGN Adventures” was developed by Screw Attack Games and Freakzone Games and has the full endorsement of Cinemassacre. Players will be taking on the role of the Nerd himself, in a tribute to classic yet difficult 2D shooters like “Contra.” The game seems to have been made difficult on purpose, as these are the kind of games the Nerd is known for reviewing in his popular Internet series seen in Game Trailers and on his YouTube channel.

Fans of the series will feel right at home when playing the game, as it is filled with the character’s trademark swears and over-the-top insults. In addition to that, many of the series’ running gags and characters make an appearance. The skeleton version of Kyle Justin, the singer of the show’s catchy theme song, is one of the playable characters in the game.

Many of the game’s various gimmicks are also shout-outs to some of the games that the Nerd has reviewed and verbally thrashed, like the surfboard of the incredibly difficult “Silver Surfer” game. There is also an entire level based on defunct game company LJN, which made movie tie-in games for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and one that the Nerd seems to hate with a vengeance, as can be seen from his various videos.

While this is the first official game of the “Angry Video Game Nerd,” it isn’t the first game ever made that featured the Internet celebrity. There have been various fan games made as a tribute to the character, which led to a video of the Nerd reviewing all the games that featured him.

The “Angry Video Game Nerd” is a show made and created by James Rolfe for Game Trailers and has proven to be one of the more popular Internet shows in recent memory. An “Angry Video Game Nerd” movie was successfully funded through Kickstarter.

Fans of the show or of hardcore 2D shooters can download "Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures" right now for 3DS for $9.99. The game is also available on the PC and Nintendo Wii U.
