Dark Knight Rises star Anne Hathaway and her beau Adam Shulman were spotted canoodling in the park near their Brooklyn, N.Y., home on Sunday.

The couple got engaged after three years of dating, Hathaway's rep told Us Weekly on Monday.

In the park, the blissful couple shared a warm embrace and several tender kisses together as they were enjoying the weekend with their dog. However, the real star is Hathaway's shining engagement ring, which was co-designed by Shulman and Kwiat Heritage Jewels.

Shulman, 30, a low-key actor and jewelry designer, and Hathaway, 29, began dating in November 2008 and shied away from the media.

He thought that I had a boyfriend and I thought that he had a girlfriend, so I thought that I’d better keep my distance because I didn’t want to be that girl, the actress told the Harper's Bazaar .

And their union is far more mellow than her previous romances. Mellow doesn't always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life, she added.

After Hathaway split with her ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri in mid-2008, she planned to enjoy the life of a single for some time. But Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time and then I fall in love like a fool, the actress told Marie Claire U.K.
