Antarctica has been warming during the past half-century, scientists said in a published report.

Temperatures have been rising an average of 0.12 degrees Celsius every decade since 1957, according to a new report in journal Nature.

Warming on the continent has taken place at the same rate as the rest of the planet, the climate scientists believe.

Some scientists had believed that while some portions of the continent had been warming, its interior had been cooling.
