Apple unveiled the iPad Mini 3 last year with the bare minimum of configuration upgrades. This includes a fingerprint scanner and Apple Pay support. But this year, the Apple iPad Mini 4 has been on the radar for quite some time now. Following the report from China, which vouched for its 6.1 mm thickness, the Apple iPad Mini 4 is back in news with leaked configuration details, this time from France.

The new report from the credible French tipster handle @OnLeaks shows the Apple iPad Mini 4’s 3D CAD render image and video, revealing key configuration. The compact tablet will be sharing design elements with the Apple iPad Air 2. Plus, the device will indeed be slimmer than the predecessor and will measure 6.1 mm, thus corroborating the earlier report, notes Phone Arena.

Apple has always introduced the iPad series in October. But Phone Arena says, citing a report, that the tech giant will unveil new tablets, namely the iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 3 and also the brand new 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro, along with the iPhones on Sept. 9.

The iPad Mini 4’s slimmer design will be complemented by a single row of speaker grill cut-outs. In the place of the mute switch, a microphone will be added to the tablet, says Phone Arena.

The compact tablet is expected to be powered by Apple A9 processor and will be packed by 2 GB of RAM. When it comes to software, needless to say, the slate will run on Apple iOS 9. It is worth noting that, the new OS version comes with the multitasking capability. On the other hand, VCPost says, the iPad Mini 4 will come with a 7.9-inch display, fingerprint scanner and Apple Pay support. Apple has not confirmed the iPad Mini 4 specifications thus far.
