The rumor about Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) releasing a bigger iPhone in 2014 got yet another boost on Sunday when a report hit the web suggesting that the eighth-generation iPhone, dubbed the iPhone 6, could sport a bezel-free look with a larger display.

The news came from NoWhereElse.fr, a French website, which published images of what it claimed to be the front panel of the iPhone 6. According to the leaked images, Apple is expected to eliminate the side bezel on the next iPhone iteration while sharply reducing the size of the top bezel -- a design change, which could allow the company to increase the screen size without increasing the overall size of the handset.

However, according to Phone Arena, the cut out of the Home button on the alleged iPhone 6 front panel is not centered, which suggests that the images could be fake, or they could belong to a discarded panel.

Many media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, have already reported that Apple has been internally testing iPhones with a larger display. According to the WSJ, Apple has been testing models with screens up to 6 inches in size, and while it is quite unlikely that Apple would make a drastic change in the screen size from the current 4 inches to 6 inches, it is widely believed that a bigger iPhone is on its way.

Last month, The Korea Herald reported that the upcoming iPhone 6 could lack bezels surrounding the handset’s display, yielding a new design that could use a single-layered panel to allow for a thinner device, cleaner images and improved energy efficiency.

An 8-Megapixel Camera: Again?

Meanwhile, a report from GforGames cited an Apple insider from China saying that the iPhone 6 could feature an 8-megapixel camera yet again. However, Apple is rumored to be working on increasing the camera specs in some other way.

According to the report, the iPhone 6 is expected to feature a bigger sensor, an f/2.0 aperture size (compared to f/2.2 on the iPhone 5S and f/2.4 on iPhone 5), Optical Image Stabilization and 6P sapphire lens.

The same source also claimed that Sony (NYSE:SNE) could manufacture the Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor, or CMOS, sensors while LG (KRX:066570) and Sharp (TYO:6753) could produce the rest of the components.

Nikkei Asian Review also reported last month that Sony could provide the CMOS sensors for both the front-facing and rear cameras of the iPhone 6.
