Rumor has it that Apple will be releasing the compact “iPhone 6c” sometime in early 2016, and that the handset will apparently flaunt the design language of the sixth-generation iPod Touch. Meanwhile, brilliant 3D renders of the upcoming iPhone are making waves in the blogosphere, showing the exterior design.

Designer Ferry Passchier has created stunning 3D renders of the Apple iPhone 6c showing a beautiful device that flaunts the familiar design of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. The scaled-down version of the iPhone 6 series will apparently come in a slew of colors similar to the iPhone 5c.

Passchier has utilized five of the Apple iPod Touch-like color schemes, in addition to the regular space gray hue. The photo attached above shows the handset in gray, silver, gold, rose gold, dark pink and dark blue colors, alongside the original iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

As far as the iPhone 6c release date is concerned, the handset will reportedly be announced in March 2016. If rumors are to be believed, the second-generation Apple Watch will also be introduced alongside the iPhone.

Speaking of configurations, the Apple iPhone 6c is believed to come with a pocket-friendly 4.0-inch display. Unlike the plastic chassis clad iPhone 5c, this device will reportedly come with an aluminum build, Phone Arena reported.

Under the hood, similar to the bigger sibling iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the iPhone 6c is believed to come powered by an Apple A8 chipset. A solid 8-megapixel iSight camera along with a 1.3-megapixel FaceTime front-facing sensor will be part of the device. Sadly, the same 1 GB of RAM configuration is expected to be retained in the compact device as well.
