The Apple iPhone 6s features a smaller battery compared to the iPhone 6 from 2014. However, a battery efficiency test reveals that the iPhone 6s delivers exceptional battery performance.

The iPhone 6 features a battery of 1,810 mAh. However, the battery present inside the iPhone 6s is of 1,715 mAh. Apple had stated that even after a reduction of 95 mAh, the iPhone 6s would deliver same battery performance like the iPhone 6. The new Apple A9 chip of the iPhone 6s consumes less power because of which it can offer impressive battery life.

According to 9to5Mac, the 1,715 mAh battery of the iPhone 6s delivers a 3G talk time of 14 hours and a mobile data usage of 10 hours on LTE and 3G. The device can be used for up to 11 hours on continuous Wi-Fi usage. Also, the standby time offered by the battery of the iPhone 6s is 10 days. The publication claimed these statistics are same as that of the iPhone 6.

A battery endurance test conducted by Phone Arena revealed that its battery can last for up to 8 hours and 15 minutes. It claimed that even though the handset contains a smaller battery, it produces excellent battery performance. The battery endurance test carried out by the publication was designed to simulate the usage of a real-life user with the brightness of the device set to 200-nit.

The battery endurance of the iPhone 6s was found to be better than other handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, the Sony Xperia Z3+, Samsung Galaxy S6, the HTC One M9 and the iPhone 6. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active with 3,500 mAh battery could last for 12 hours and 9 minutes and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with 2,600 mAh battery could last for 10 hours and 2 minutes were found to deliver better battery performance than that of iPhone 6s.
