Aquarius Platinum Ltd. said Wednesday it resumed production at a mine in South Africa, briefly closed due to a strike.

The Bermuda-based company said it reached an interim agreement with the Association of Mining and Construction, which then ended a protected strike at the firm's Everest Mine by certain employees of Murray & Roberts Cementation.

The strike began earlier this month.

Production has now resumed and Aquarius will continue to foster the discussions between AMCU and MRC in order to reach a lasting solution to the dispute between them, the company said in a statement.

The Everest Mine is in the southern portion of the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex near the town of Mashishing, in the province of Mpumalanga.
