Rumors swirled that “Back To Back” rapper Drake and tennis superstar Serena Williams were engaged after OK! magazine “exclusively reported” the Canadian entertainer proposed Thursday. But TMZ told a different story.

Sadly, there are no “I dos” in their immediate future, Drake’s rep told TMZ on Thursday. "The rumor is completely untrue," the rep said. Even though the stars have been spending a lot of time together, and have been gracious with their PDA since they were spotted at a restaurant in Cincinnati in August, they haven’t began to talk about a wedding.

Le sigh. For those who still want to indulge, OK! magazine has not retracted the story about the engagement. In fact, it notes that Williams is a private person who hasn’t confirmed the relationship yet, so she probably wouldn’t cop to being engaged. “She said yes, but they want to keep it on the down-low for now,” the source said. “Right now they’re happy with just being happy.”

Drake, 28, reportedly planned a romantic getaway and proposed to Williams, 34, in his hometown, Toronto. The couple broke up in 2011, but “now that he has her, he isn’t letting her go,” an insider told OK! magazine.

The proposal report was much different than what a source told Hollywood Life a day earlier. Not only was Drake not thinking about marriage, he wasn’t even thinking about dating the tennis star exclusively. “They [Drake and Williams] are still a thing, but he is also not committed to only her and enjoys the variety life brings in the women department,” the source told Hollywood Life. “He will always be a player first. But don’t tell her that, because she wants to hang out with him more and more, especially since she has taken off time from tennis,” the insider added.
