Many Twihards are going to be devastated by this news: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart might be calling it quits for good, according to the latest gossip spewed by the rumor mill.
Pattinson, 27, and Stewart, 23, have reportedly been fighting a lot, putting strain on their on-screen, off-screen romance, Us Weekly reported. The magazine cited an inside source who claimed the duo is experiencing many more rough patches than smooth ones.
The insider told Us Weekly the couple -- despite their “having problems” and “fighting a lot” -- might be able to work things out, especially since the two were last seen being affectionate after Stewart’s recent solo appearance at the Costume Institute Gala, aka the Met Gala, in New York.
The “Twilight” actress met her co-star on the set of the first blockbuster film based on Stephanie Meyer’s best-selling vampire novel series, and a romance soon ensued. The duo went on to star in a total of five hit “Twilight” movies, but their romance became turned tumultuous when the starlet was caught cheating on her boyfriend of nearly three years with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders.
After photographs focused on her affair made the rounds online, Stewart issued a public apology for her infidelity. “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” she said last July 25. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
After a few months apart, the pair reconciled last fall, but rumors have constantly circulated about their strength of their relationship. Neither Pattinson nor Stewart has publicly commented on their recent alleged split.
