Ariana Grande is quite happy that she’s been cast to play as Penny Pingleton for NBC’s upcoming live musical adaption of the hit Broadway musical “Hairspray.” Aside from this, however, the “Dangerous Woman” songstress is also pleased that she gets to work with director Kenny Leon, as well as the show’s cast and crew.

On Wednesday, Grande took to Instagram to share a snap with Leon and expressed her gratitude towards the Tony award-winning Broadway director, who was also behind NBC’s “The Wiz Live!” last year. Grande also stated that the whole production is a life-changing for her.

In a follow-up photo, the 23-year-old “Problem” hitmaker could be seen hanging out with the cast and crew of “Hairspray Live!” which is slated to air on NBC on Dec. 7. Just like in her first Instagram post, Grande grabbed the chance to say her thank you to the people she’s spending her time with in preparation for the highly anticipated live show.

Two days prior, Grande proudly shared on her Instagram the official teaser trailer for “Hairspray Live!” that also stars Harvey Fierstein, Jennifer Hudson, Derek Hough, Martin Short, Andrea Martin, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Rosie O’Donnell, Garrett Clayton and Billy Eichner, among others.

Grande’s posts come days after she rocked the stage at the American Music Awards with her performance of “Side to Side” performance with Nicki Minaj. Since the awards night, Grande has been posting pics of her and Minaj on Instagram to show her appreciation for Minaj following the success of their collaboration.

The icing on top of Grande’s career this year was, of course, her big win at the AMAs for being hailed as Artist of the Year. In her acceptance speech, she even fought back tears as she thanked her fans, family, friends and her manager, Scooter Braun.
