American cyclist Lance Armstrong who made his comeback after retiring from the sport for three and a half years held third place overall after the 20th stage of the Tour de France which will crown its winner tomorrow.

Armstrong, the seven-times tour winner, trails Spain’s Alberto Contador by 5 minutes, 21 seconds. Andy Schleck of Luxembourg is in second place overall, 4 minutes and 11 seconds behind Contador.

Contador kept the yellow Jersey, he has won a mountain stage and a time trial, which will count much towards the overall victory.

My priority is to protect the yellow jersey up to Paris, but if it's compatible that I help someone from the team - for example, Lance - I'll do it without question, Contador said according to the Associated Press.

Contador won the Tour in 2007 and is likely to take the victory this year.

The race finishes Sunday on the Champs-Elysees in Paris, after 21 stages.
