With the transfer window closing in, Arsenal are reported to be interested to cash in on Serie A side Roma's Daniele De Rossi who is having problems with the club over contract renewal, according to reports by the Italian media.

The experienced Italian is currently serving his eleventh season at the Stadio Olimpico, but new reports have suggested that the player could leave the club as he has refused to sign a new contract with his current deal that will end next summer.

Roma, however, would not want to let the player go for free when his contract runs out in the summer and so will be looking forward to suitable bidders in the market. Wenger, who has been looking for a midfield option, will feel this as a chance to land the talented 28-year-old.

Wenger may feel that De Rossi could act as a guide force for the likes of youngsters Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, according to a Caughtoffside report.

De Rossi has appeared in 367 games for Roma and has managed to find the back of the net 44 times.
