The eighteenth annual amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS, held during the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, was a star-studded event attended by the crème-de-la-crème of the film industry.

Janet Jackson, Brooke Shields, Gwen Stefani, Freida Pinto, Michelle Yeoh, Milla Jovovich, Patrick Dempsey, and Harvey Weinstein were among those who travelled to Cannes to raise funds for AIDS research at amfAR's annual gala.

amfAR is one of the world's leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy. Since its inception in 1985, amfAR has invested nearly $325 million in its programs and has awarded grants to more than 2,000 research teams worldwide.

The event at the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, involved a formal dinner and a world-renowned live auction, all to benefit amfAR. In the past, the event has been marked by unforgettable moments; from Sharon Stone dancing along to an impromptu performance by Sir Elton John and Ringo Starr.
