

Michael Jackson and "Charlie's Angels" star Farrah Fawcett died in the same day with both leaving a legacy behind and many fans deeply saddened by the news.
"The King of Pop", as he so famously came to be known as, died at age 50. He was preparing for a come back tour where he would perform a series of 50 concerts starting July 13 at London's 02 arena.
Jackson, under apparent cardiac arrest, was taken from his home by paramedics to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where a team of physicians tried to resuscitate him for more than an hour, officials said according to CNN.
Jackson's brother, Jermaine, said the music idol was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. (5:26 p.m. ET).
The news shocked fans and fellow celebrities all over the world, from California to Sydney.
"I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news," Quincy Jones, who worked closely with Jackson on some of his most successful recordings.
Michael Jackson was one of the first black entertainers of the MTV generation to gain a big success on the music channel.

Fellow singer Celine Dion said in a statement, “I am shocked. I am overwhelmed by this tragedy. Michael Jackson has been an idol for me all my life.”
His 1982 album "Thriller" smashed records and was at the No. 1 spot for 37 weeks. To date, it has sold over 50 million copies worldwide.
