As Super Bowl XLVI odds-makers predict who will win the big game, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino are making a friendly bet that will leave one lucky family feeling even better about their team's big win.

Bloomberg announced the wager Tuesday in an e-mail during which he also implored New Yorkers to wear blue on Friday as part of a citywide "Big Blue Friday" to show their support for the Giants.

If the New York Giants beat the Patriots on Sunday, one New York City family will receive a Super Tour of Boston, and if the New England Patriots beat the Giants, then one Boston family will be treated to a Super Tour of New York City. The contest's winners will be announced via an online lottery system to be set up after Super Bowl XLVI ends,

"New York sports teams have a history of cleaning up when they go to Boston - and now our fans will have a chance to do the same," said New York Mayor Bloomberg. "Any New Yorker not too tired from salsa dancing Sunday night will be able to enter an online lottery for the chance to win. I also want to thank our generous partners who have agreed to fund a trip to New York City for a Boston family - but we expect that if Boston fans want to help us set another record for tourism, they will have to pay their own way."

"I have a lot of faith in the Patriots. They carried us this far, and I hope they'll carry the Vince Lombardi Trophy right back to Boston," Boston Mayor Menino said. "But either on the field or off, the City of Boston wins by being able to showcase some of the best our great city has to offer."
