He's known for his highflying, aerial acrobatics.

But after being given a $30 million private jet, Chinese film star Jackie Chan may be spending a little more time in the air than even he's used to.

The martial arts legend was gifted the Legacy 650 executive jet by Brazilian plane maker Embraer as the company tries to break into the lucrative Chinese market.

In a statement, Ernest Edwards, president of Embraer's Executive Jets unit said: Its entire line of executive aircraft, not only in the rapidly growing greater China market, but globally.

This delivery is a moment of historical importance to Embraer because it solidifies an already long and successful relationship between China and Embraer.

Describing himself as a brand ambassador, Chan added: I believe that Embraer is poised to become a major player in the Chinese executive jet market.

Embraer hopes that Chan's global fame will translate into recognition and sales with China's growing economic elite.

The actor toasted the company's executives as they stood together in front of the plane which had been customized with his name on the tail and a red and yellow Chinese color scheme.

The Legacy 650 has a range of 3,900 nautical miles and can fly four passengers nonstop from Beijing to Dubai or from Hong Kong to Adelaide, Australia.
