The much delayed Mel Gibson movie The Beaver is finally set to hit the screens in 2011.

While no definite US release date has been announced so far, the movie is scheduled to be released in the Netherlands on January 6, 2011, in Norway on January 14, 2011 and in the UK on February 11, 2010, according to celebrity-gossip.net.

The trailer of the movie was released by Summit Entertainment on Friday night on Entertainment Tonight.

Gibson plays a depressed father who uses a beaver hand puppet as his only way of communication. In other words, 'The Beaver' is a hand puppet which provides solace to a toy executive whose life has gone off track.

Besides Gibson, The Beaver has some big names associated with it. While Kyle Killen of “Lone Star” fame has scripted the movie, Jodie Foster has played the double role of director/actor for the film. The movie also has Jennifer Lawrence and Anton Yelchin.

Mel Gibson’s performance in the film has been creating a buzz since a year. However, his much publicized custody battle and racist rant left the movie release date in a limbo.
