Supermodel Ashley Graham recently revealed that she was molested by a family friend when she was just 10 years old.

In her book, “A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty and Power Really Look Like,” Graham detailed an incident involving an 18-year-old boy forcing her to touch his private part while they were drying off after swimming in the pool. The sexual abuse took a toll on Graham, and the plus-size model said that it resulted to her getting into abusive relationships with men. “It didn’t matter how inappropriate, unsolicited or confusing it was, any male attention was good attention as far as I was concerned,” she wrote.

Graham also recounted a time when her first boyfriend, Craig, ended their relationship because she refused to have sex with him. “Thus started the pattern of going out with anyone who thought I was hot or my body was attractive,” she said.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old also admitted to formerly being addicted to alcohol and drugs. At one point, she also got fired by her modeling agency when she missed a show because of too much partying the night before. At present, Graham is trying to move forward from all of the negative experiences she’s had, including the time her father and a German stylist insulted her separately because of her appearance. “No matter how many jobs I landed, I always found something to criticize about my appearance,” she said.

According to Graham, while the German stylist cut her jeans, she said something offensive in her native language. “When I asked someone to translate, I found out she had said, ‘If this big girl falls on me, we are both going to die. Her from the scissors, and me from her,’” she said.
