Jennifer Lopez is an icon when it comes to fashion and style. It is no wonder that Jillian Rose Reed donned a dress that seemed to be influenced by the look the “Shades of Blue” actress made popular over a decade ago.

On Sunday, the “Awkward” star graced the red carpet wearing the same gown that was marked as one of Lopez’s most memorable red carpet looks, Elite Daily reported. The publication noted that Reed’s gown appeared to be identical to Lopez’s green Versace ensemble at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

MTV also recognized Reed’s gown and compared it to Lopez. In its official Twitter account, the outlet posted side by side photos of Reed in her controversial gown and Lopez in her iconic gown back in 2000. “@JillianRoseReed is giving us major @JLo vibes on the #MTVAwards carpet,” the tweet read.

The two dresses looked similar, but they were not completely the same. Lopez’s gown had a deeper “V” shape that showed off major sideboob and her toned abs. Meanwhile, Reed’s gown was tied along the midsection and highlighted her cleavage.

Since the two gowns were very similar, netizens weighed in on whether the “American Idol” judge or the “Age of Dinosaurs” star wore it better. Based on their feedback, majority think that Alex Rodriguez’s girlfriend slayed it. “Oh hell no. Ain’t nobody do it like @JLo,” Zachary Tarin wrote on Twitter.

Many shared his sentiment, with another Twitter user posting that the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer rocked the gown better than the “Awkward” actress. “Obviously jlo wrote it better. That other woman isn't even in the same dress the deep V is more like a lower case v on the other woman,” John Jeter commented.

Some remembered the dress worn by Lopez because it made headlines for months. “Ahh remember when this JLo dress was so scandalous it owned literally months of news cycles? We were so young, once,” Helen Rosner wrote on Twitter.

On the other hand, Perez believed that Reed’s decision to wear her dress was desperate and smart because it was a surefire way to get attention. Another user also noted the actress’ guts to wear it, writing: “Why do people even try!? This dress on JLo was the reason Google Images was invented #truestory #legend.”

It is true that Lopez’s infamous green Grammys dress caught the attention of the media and inspired Google Images. When Lopez stepped out wearing the controversial slashed-to-the-navel gown at the 2000 Grammy Awards, there was no easily accessible photo library where internet users could see the iconic look. However, after the event, there was a massive volume of users who Googled Lopez’s dress. As a response, Google decided to create its own image library and thus, Google Images was born.

“After all, people wanted more than just text,” Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt told Vogue. “This first became apparent after the 2000 Grammy Awards, where Jennifer Lopez wore a green dress that, well, caught the world's attention. At the time, it was the most popular search query we had ever seen. But we had no sure-fire way of getting users exactly what they wanted: JLo wearing that dress. Google Image Search was born.”
