RTTNews - Thursday, the Bank Indonesia decided to maintain its benchmark rate at 6.5% as expected. The central bank refrained from reducing the rate after cutting it for nine straight months. The central bank has slashed the rate by 300 basis points since December 2008.

The Bank Indonesia said it will continue to monitor global and domestic economic developments and will take necessary measures to maintain macroeconomic stability.
