While California Chrome still stands as the favorite to win the 146th Belmont Stakes and complete the Triple Crown, odds have shifted among several horses as the final hours tick away before Saturday’s race in Elmont, New York.

Of the 11 horses in the field, nine have seen their odds shift either up or down over the last two days, according to OddsShark via Bovada.lv.

For those hoping to cash in even more on California Chrome’s run for greatness, the odds have shifted slightly up from 3/5 to 4/5. But some of the biggest changes involve the longshots in the field, like Matuszak tumbling way down from 30/1 to 50/1, and Commissioner, who was viewed as a potential spoiler to California Chrome, slipping from 20/1 to 33/1.

California Chrome’s biggest threat is still Wicked Strong, whose odds remained unchanged at 6/1. Originally viewed as a favorite heading into the Kentucky Derby in May, Wicked Strong finished fourth at Churchill Downs after winning the Wood Memorial a month before. He sat out the Preakness.

The two runner-ups from the Derby and Preakness have seen their stocks significantly rise among bettors. After placing a surprise second at the Derby, Commanding Curve went from 15/1 to 11/1, and Preakness runner-up Ride On Curlin is just behind Wicked Strong after a change from 12/1 to 7/1.

With only four career starts Tonalist was set at 8/1 odds out of the wide No. 11 post, but he could be a serious contender with a move slightly down to 17/2. Trained by the French-born Christophe Clement, Tonalist owns a solid career record of 2-1-0 and will probably have the freshest legs in the field.

The odds will matter much less once everyone enters their posts at 6:52 p.m. EST, and destiny perhaps takes over.
