Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner want to remain friends following their divorce, and they've sought out a Los Angeles marriage counseling center to help them make the transition as smooth as possible for their three kids.

Garner and the “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” actor were photographed Thursday smiling as they left the California counseling center. The pair opted not to wear their wedding rings. Despite the outing, sources told People that Affleck and Garner still plan on moving forward with their divorce.

“There is no reconciliation," the source said. "They are working with a professional because there are emotions involved, and they want to make this transition as easy as possible for their family." According to the site, Affleck and Garner used to attend weekly counseling sessions at the center, but they stopped shortly before their divorce announcement in June.

"They are working together and are keeping it amicable," the source added. "This is something they have been working on for over a year -- and they continue to be a strong unit." The insider went on to say the former lovers are determined to remain friends “not just for the kids,” but because “they care about each other.”

As previously reported, the “13 Going On 30” actress and her ex were spotted least month at Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort celebrating Affleck’s 43rd birthday. Matt Damon, a close friend of Affleck’s, also opened up about the pair’s split, telling Entertainment Tonight the actor was doing “good.”
