Who were the faces behind the best-selling fashion magazines in 2011? Rather, who were the faces at the forefront of the best-selling fashion magazines in 2011? Some celebrities have got better selling power than others. With their faces on the cover, magazines flew off the shelves. These women used their star clout and undeniable prowess to deliver the highest grossing issues for magazines like Elle, Marie Claire and Vogue.

Women's Wear Daily accrued data from the Audit Bureau of Circulations to determine which celebrities provided the biggest boosts this year. Based on the calculations, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston and Heidi Klum proved to deliver some of the biggest hits for 2011.

Parker appeared on the covers of Elle, Vogue and Marie Claire and delivered each monthly its second or third best-seller of the year. Heidi Klum helped Lucky magazine by appearing on its March issue and Glamour's August issue. Jennifer Aniston scored Marie Claire its most popular issue of the year with her July cover and Elle's November cover.

Along with these fan favorites, some newcomers hit the scene and threw around their weight.

Mila Kunis was a 2011 phenomenon. Her August GQ cover brought in 205,000 sales, her March W cover boosted sales 15 percent and her February Cosmopolitan cover took the magazine to 1.7 million issues purchased.

One (surprising) newcomer who bombed was Justin Bieber. Bieber preened on Vanity Fair's February cover and the issue tanked, reports WWD, selling just 245,800 copies. This marked the third worst seller since Graydon Carter took over VF in 1992. Bieber's Rolling Stone cover did not do much better. The March appearance sold 5 percent worse than average for the biweekly publication.

Other losers of the year were Brooklyn Decker - who brought down the sales of both Esquire and Self - Fergie and Reese Witherspoon.

What about 2011's media darling?

Kim Kardashian landed on the cover of the most magazines this year, but her popularity was mixed. She brought Glamour (February 2011) and Cosmopolitan (August 2011) their best-sellers but her Bazaar, Lucky and January 2012 Glamour covers were nothing to brag about.
