Beyoncé has been offered a major role in NBC's latest live musical special, according to reports. In March, the network announced that, after the success of both "The Sound of Music Live!" and "Peter Pan Live!," they were beginning production on "The Wiz Live!" At the time no decisions about casting had been made.

E! Online reports NBC is currently eyeing Beyoncé for the role of Glinda the Good Witch. The 20-time Grammy Award winner is said to have been offered the role, though it remains unclear whether or not she plans to accept. In addition to the "Flawless" singer, the network is reportedly considering casting "Orange Is the New Black" star Uzo Aduba. Although Aduba has not won a Grammy, her previous experience in Broadway's "Godspell" could give her a leg up on the competition.

Other big names joining the cast of "The Wiz Live!" include Mary J. Blige and Queen Latifah. Blige has signed on for the part of the Wicked Witch of the West, named Evillene, while Latifah has been cast as the Wizard. Neither stars needs to prove they're qualified for their parts as both Blige and Latifah have prior musical theater experience. Latifah was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her part in "Chicago" and starred in the musical "Hairspray" in 2007. Blige, who has a whole slew of Grammy Awards, made an appearance in the film adaptation of the popular musical "Rock of Ages."

NBC is also bringing on Stephanie Mills to play Auntie Em. No further casting information has been revealed.

NBC's latest "Live!" production will be directed by Kenny Leon and Harvey Fierstein. "The Wiz Live!" will premiere Dec. 3 on NBC.
