The Big Bang Theory
Amy (Mayim Bialik) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) spend their first night together in episode 11 of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9. CBS

Well, that was a relief. The kiss fans were waiting for finally arrived in episode 10 of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 when Sheldon (Jim Parsons) interrupted Amy's (Mayim Bialik) date with Dave (guest star Stephen Merchant) thanks to a little inspiration from the Beach Boys. So, "Shamy" is back together — let the shippers celebrate! — but the winter finale, "The Opening Night Excitation," will focus on what comes after that long-awaited kiss.

According to the synopsis for the episode, Sheldon and Amy are not quite satisfied with locking lips and are looking to take things a bit further. In the coming episode, the newly reunited couple is contemplating spending the night together for the first time. That is a big decision for the sheepish Sheldon! Luckily, he will have some guidance from Emmy-winner Bob Newhart, who returns to the show as Sheldon’s personal Obi-Wan Kenobi to help the scientist make a difficult choice. What choice, though?

Well, the synopsis also reveals that Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Raj (Kunal Nayyar) and Howard (Simon Helberg) need to find someone else to take their extra ticket to the premiere of the new "Star Wars" movie. One would think that the ticket was originally intended for Sheldon, right? That might mean Sheldon's big decision is between seeing "Star Wars" on opening night or spending the night with Amy for the first time. The choice will seem obvious to "Shamy" shippers, but considering this is a couple that broke up after Sheldon dodged intimacy for "The Flash," it could be a complicated call for him. One hopes that after that big kiss his head is in the right place.
