“The Blacklist” returned Monday, Sept. 22, and Red (James Spader) and Liz (Megan Boone) were able to put another baddie from the list behind bars – Lord Baltimore (Krysten Ritter). However, Berlin (Peter Stormare) remained elusive and now has Red’s ex-wife, Naomi (Mary Louise-Parker), in captivity. Can he find her before it’s too late? The synopsis for the next episode, “Monarch Douglas Bank,” reveals that, first, Red will have to deal with another blacklister.

Next on Red’s list, according to the synopsis, is not a person, but a place – Monarch Douglas Bank. A robbery will give Red the opportunity to take down the less than respectable financial institution in the task force’s next mission. However, things will not go smoothly as Liz will apparently question Red’s motives during the mission.

As for Berlin, fans do not yet know if Monarch Douglas Bank will have any connection to Red’s archrival -- but time is running out. The promo for next week teases that the two criminals will finally meet and that fans can expect fireworks. Red still does not know why Berlin blames him for his daughter’s death, but Berlin is determined to give Naomi the same treatment, sending Red one of her fingers at the end of the last episode.

Will Red get to Berlin before it is too late or will Naomi be killed before he can save her? Does Monarch Douglas Bank provide the secrets Red needs to find and stop Berlin? Fans will have to tune in next week to find out. “The Blacklist” airs Monday nights at 10 p.m. on EDT on NBC.
