Things are still heating up between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. After posting a photo to her Instagram that got fans talking, Stefani's new boyfriend has confirmed that he had a hand in the equestrian-themed present.
In January, the No Doubt singer posted the below photo of her new horse, whom she apparently named Halo, with the hashtag “best present ever” in the caption. Obviously, given her star status and the fact that she’s been engaged in a highly publicized romance with her former “The Voice” co-star, fans were quick to assume that the gift was from Shelton. However, neither of them came forward to discuss the horse or where it came from — until now.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the country singer finally revealed not only that he’s the one responsible for Halo, but that he went ahead and got himself a horse of his own while he was at it.
“We got her horse and I got myself a horse at the same time," he told the outlet in the video below. “Gwen, she loves riding and she loves horses. It’s actually so funny that people are so shocked by that, but if you can name me one girl on the planet that doesn’t love horses or just think that they are beautiful…”
Despite both of their affection for the animals, they might not have a lot of time to ride these days, especially Shelton. Earlier this week, the "God Gave Me You" performer returned for another season of the NBC reality singing competition “The Voice.” Stefani, who is sitting Season 10 out after nearly winning in Season 9, won’t be entirely removed from the show. Although she’s not going to be assembling a team of talent of her own, she’ll be invested in her boyfriend’s crop of singers. According to Us Weekly, Stefani will show up as a guest mentor to Team Shelton during an undisclosed time this season.
With the blind auditions underway, it’s only a matter of time before "The Voice" teams are rounded out and Shelton’s team squares off against Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera.
